A cake in a cup, or Cake to go, is a mini cake made to travel: a wooden spoon and a candle are already included. At Vanilla Cake the cups come in two sizes, 170–190 g and 270–290 g, and they are sold in sets of two or more: 25 ₼ or 30 ₼ for a pair. It is a handy way to treat a whole group at once: at the office, at school or at a children’s party, everyone gets their own cup with their own design. Below we cover sizes and prices, ideas for different occasions, how it compares with a bento cake and how to order Cake to go in Baku.
What is Cake to go
Inside the cup are the same sponges and cream cheese as in our bento cakes, and on top is a drawing and lettering to suit your occasion. Since the spoon and candle come with it, you can celebrate anywhere — in the street, in the car or right at your desk, with no plates and no knife. You will find every design in the Cake to go section — cakes in a cup.
When you order, you choose:
- Cup size — 170–190 g or 270–290 g;
- Quantity — from two cups, and for a group we put together sets of six or nine;
- Design and lettering — in a large set every cup can have its own drawing, and the lettering is free, in English, Russian or Azerbaijani;
- Sponge and filling — following the rule “1 sponge + 1 filling”, just like our bento cakes.
Cake in a cup: sizes and prices
The price is for a set of two cups and depends on their size:
| Set | Weight of one cup | Price per set |
|---|---|---|
| 2 cups | 170–190 g | 25 ₼ |
| 2 cups | 270–290 g | 30 ₼ |
You can order more, too: we make up full sets of six or nine cups with different designs. The easiest way to agree on the exact number and the drawings is on WhatsApp.
Cake for the office: a cup for every colleague
For a corporate party or an office birthday, people usually order six to nine cups at once: a different drawing and a different wish for every colleague. Everyone gets their own, and nobody has to cut a cake or hunt for a knife and plates.

A few occasions where this format works especially well:
- a colleague’s birthday — the birthday person’s name on one cup and wishes from the team on the rest;
- celebrating the whole department — a name on every cup, or a joke only your team will get;
- a treat for no reason at all — a set of two cups to go with coffee;
- a corporate party or a finished project — a set for the whole team with short lettering such as “Thank you!” or “We did it!”.
For a small team, the set of six pastel cups is a good fit, decorated with candles, balloons, ice cream and good wishes. If you are not sure what to write, browse our cake lettering ideas and pick the shortest ones for the cups.
Cake to go for school and children’s parties
A cup with its own spoon makes a nice gift for a teacher and a simple way to treat a whole class: nobody has to share out a cake. For the start of the school year there is a bright set reading “Back to school” and “Happy Birthday”, and a design that looks like a page of ruled notebook paper works for both the first day of term and the last-bell celebration at the end of the school year.
At a child’s birthday party, the cups can stand in for a big cake: the pink nine-cup “Princess” set with a crown, a rainbow, balloons and bunting is a party table in itself. Every child gets their own cup and their own spoon, and the birthday child blows out the candle.

Cake to go or a bento cake: which to choose
We make both formats from the same sponges and fillings; the difference is in how they are served. A bento is one cake for a shared table, while Cake to go is a separate dessert for each person. We cover bento sizes in detail in our article What is a bento cake.
| Cake to go | Bento cake | Bento set | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Mini cake in a cup | One cake with your design | 3 or 4 mini bentos in one box |
| Serves | A cup for every person | 1–2, 3–4 or 7–8 people | A cake for each of 3–4 people |
| Price | 25 / 30 ₼ for 2 cups | 25 / 35 / 60 ₼ | 75 / 100 ₼ |
| Best for | Office, school, children’s parties, celebrating on the go | A shared table at home, a gift for one person | A gift for several people in one box |
If there are three or four people to treat and you want the gift to look beautiful in one box, have a look at bento sets: every mini cake has its own design and its own message. We explain how to tell a story across three or four cakes in our article on bento sets as a gift. And if you need one cake at the centre of the table, build it yourself in the cake builder.
