To order a cake in Baku from Vanilla Cake, you only need to decide six things: the design, the size, the sponge and filling, the lettering, the date and time, and how you will receive the cake. You choose it all in one form, on the cake’s page or in the cake builder, and it reaches us on WhatsApp as a single message. The earliest date is two days ahead, and the order counts as accepted once we confirm it. Below we go through each step in turn, along with our schedule, cake delivery in Baku by courier or via Bolt, and collecting the cake yourself.
If you are still deciding whether a bento is right for you and want to understand the formats, weights and prices first, start with our guide to what a bento cake is. This article is purely practical: what to choose, and in what order, so the cake is ready on time. Before you open the form, it helps to know the answers to five questions:
- Who the cake is for and why — this shapes the design and the lettering;
- How many guests there will be — this decides the size;
- What the person you are celebrating likes — this guides the sponge and filling;
- When you need the cake — the day and a convenient hour;
- Where you will receive it — at home, at the office or at our bakery.
Step 1. Choose the design
There are three ways to choose a design, and they all lead to the same order form.
- From the catalogue. The bento cake catalogue has ready-made designs for birthdays, anniversaries and just-because gifts. We recreate the design and pipe your own lettering — a name, an age or any phrase you like.
- From your own picture. Every cake page has a “Send your own design” field: attach a photo of a cake you like (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB) and we will recreate or adapt it; a link to the photo is added to your message. For a photo cake, send a large image that isn’t heavily zoomed in: we print it in edible ink right onto the cream.
- In the cake builder. In the online cake builder you can put a design together in a few minutes: one of 19 cream colours, up to three pictures (your own photos included), up to three lines of text and a border. You can spin the finished cake around in 3D, and a link to the design image is added to the order automatically.
A few designs from the catalogue: some can be ordered as they are, while in others we change the name, date, photo or drawing to suit your occasion.
Step 2. Size, sponge and filling
Choose the size by the number of guests: a cake for 1–2 people weighs 300–350 g and costs 25 ₼; for 3–4 people it is 750–800 g at 35 ₼; for 7–8 people, 1200–1500 g at 60 ₼. The price depends only on the size, not on how complex the design is, so you see the total on the cake’s page straight away. Bow bentos don’t come in the small size, as the decoration needs height.
Inside is sponge with cream cheese and a filling, chosen by the rule “1 sponge + 1 filling”. There are three sponges: vanilla, chocolate and red velvet. Once you pick a sponge in the form, the list shows only the fillings that go with it, so you can’t end up with a combination that doesn’t work. Every option is shown with photos on the sponges and fillings page.
Step 3. Lettering on the cake
Lettering is free — in English, Russian or Azerbaijani. The cake page has a separate “Lettering” field: type the text exactly as it should appear in cream, for example “Happy birthday, Aysel!” In the builder you can add up to three lines and choose the lettering colour. If the words won’t come, browse our cake lettering ideas for different occasions.
Step 4. Date and time: how far ahead to order a cake
We take pre-orders only: there is no counter of ready-made cakes, and every cake is made for a specific day. That is why the earliest date in the order form’s calendar is two days away. For example, if you message us on Tuesday, the cake can be yours on Thursday. The sooner you order, the easier it is to get the day you want, especially before holidays. The simplest approach is to book as soon as you know the date.
What to keep in mind when choosing the day and time:
- Sunday is our day off. You can’t select it in the calendar, and the same goes for our other non-working days. If the celebration falls on a Sunday, plan the cake for Saturday.
- Monday — not before 17:00. We don’t work on Sunday, so Monday’s cakes are baked in the morning. If you message us on Friday, the earliest option is the following Monday, from 17:00.
- Saturday is a short day. You can receive the cake from 11:00 to 14:00.
- You choose a one-hour slot. For example, 15:00–16:00: pick an hour when you are sure to be there.
Step 5. Cake delivery in Baku or pickup
You choose how to receive the cake in the same form: courier delivery, Bolt Delivery or pickup. A quick overview:
| Option | When | Address in the form |
|---|---|---|
| Courier delivery | Mon–Fri 11:00–20:00 | Required: street, building, apartment; you can mark the spot on a map |
| Bolt Delivery | Mon–Fri 11:00–22:00 | Not needed: you book the Bolt courier to our address yourself |
| Pickup | At the hour you chose when ordering | Not needed: you collect the cake from us |
The general schedule: on Saturday you can receive the cake from 11:00 to 14:00, on Monday not before 17:00, and Sunday is our day off.
Courier
Enter the address — street, building and apartment. To save the courier hunting for the right building, tap “Pick on map” and mark the spot: a link to it is added to the message. We sort out the delivery details on WhatsApp when we confirm your order.
Bolt Delivery
Bolt Delivery runs on weekdays from 11:00 to 22:00. Here is how it works:
- Choose Bolt Delivery in the form and send the order.
- We confirm the order on WhatsApp and message you again when the cake is ready for handover.
- You book the Bolt courier to our address yourself — we don’t book it for you. A Google Maps link to our address is right there in the order form.
Pickup
You can collect the cake yourself at the hour you chose. The bakery’s address and the “Get directions” buttons for Google Maps and Waze are on the Vanilla Cake contact page. Keep the cake on a flat surface on the way, and in summer travel in an air-conditioned car; you will find more practical tips in our questions and answers.
If someone else will receive the cake, tick “The recipient is someone else” in the form and enter their name and phone number. To turn that delivery into a real surprise, see our article on sending a cake as a gift.
Step 6. Send the order and wait for confirmation
Once everything is chosen, press “Order this cake”. In the form that opens, choose how you will receive the cake, the date and the time, then enter your name and phone number. Only these two fields are required, plus the address for courier delivery: we use your name and number to get in touch and agree the details. The “Send via WhatsApp” button opens a chat with a ready-made message that already contains the size, sponge, filling, lettering, date, time, delivery option and a link to the cake you chose — and, for a builder order, a link to your design too. There is nothing to retype: just send the message.
If you would rather talk it all through by message, write to us directly on WhatsApp at +994 55 215 63 43 or on Instagram at @vanilla_cake_az: send a picture or an idea, and we will put the order together with you.
