The easiest way to choose a kids birthday cake is to start with one question: who is your child’s favourite character right now? After that, all that is left is to pick a size to suit the number of guests and decide on the lettering — we add the name and age free of charge. Our kids bento cakes section has 130 designs: animals, cars, space, princesses and cartoon heroes. Below we explain how to choose a design for a child aged two to ten, what size you need for the party and how to order a cake in Baku.
How to choose a design for a kids cake
A kids bento cake is a small handmade cake with a design drawn in cream and lettering, and it comes in its own box. For a child, the character is what matters most. If you are not sure where to start, ask the birthday child who they would like to see on the cake, or think about which cartoons and toys are their favourites at the moment. The main themes in our catalogue:
- Animals — a tiger cub, a bunny, a teddy bear, a dinosaur. A calm option that suits toddlers and older children alike.
- Cars and vehicles — the blue cartoon tractor, trucks, Lightning McQueen from Cars.
- Space — planets, a rocket, a flying saucer and stars; the one in our catalogue was made to mark a baby’s four months, but we can write a name and age instead.
- Princesses and fairies — crowns, rainbows and a princess in a lilac dress for the birthday of a girl aged four to eight.
- Cartoons and superheroes — Peppa Pig, SpongeBob, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, Labubu, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi.
- Sport — a football in the back of the net, in any club colours you like.
Age is only a rough guide, but it helps narrow things down. Here is how the catalogue themes match different ages:
| Age | What works | Designs from the catalogue |
|---|---|---|
| 2–5 | Familiar cartoon characters, bright colours, lots of small details | Blue tractor, Peppa Pig, rainbow with a bunny |
| 3–7 | Cars and dinosaurs, a big age number | Lightning McQueen, dinosaur in a party hat |
| 4–8 | Princesses, crowns, fairies | Princess in a lilac dress, Cake to go cups with a crown |
| Older children | Trendy characters and heroes the child picks themselves | Labubu, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi, Spider-Man |

What size cake to order for a kids party
At a children’s birthday party the adults have cake too, so count everyone who will be at the table. Bento cakes come in three sizes, each with a fixed price:
| Size | Weight | Serves | Price | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 300–350 g | 1–2 | 25 ₼ | A gift for the birthday child, photos, a party for two |
| Medium | 750–800 g | 3–4 | 35 ₼ | A family celebration at home |
| Large | 1200–1500 g | 7–8 | 60 ₼ | A birthday with guests |
The small cake for 1–2 people comes in a white clamshell box — the classic bento look — and is easy to hand to the birthday child in person. If there are more than eight guests, you can add mini cakes or cake cups alongside the large cake — more on those below, in the kindergarten section.
For babies under one, parents usually go for the small cake: it is mostly for the photos and the grown-ups. We have collected ideas for that age in a separate article on the first birthday cake.
Name and age on the cake
We write the child’s name and age free of charge — in English, Russian or Azerbaijani, in Latin or Cyrillic script, whichever you prefer. Lettering on kids cakes is usually short: a name, a number and a couple of warm words. It is best to have the name written large so it reads well in photos.
The age can be written in words or added as a big number next to the character: on one of our dinosaur cakes it can be any number from one to seven, the teddy in a party hat holds a balloon shaped like the number, and on the lion cub cake we spell out a name of up to five letters in balloons. If you would like something other than “Happy Birthday”, have a look at our cake lettering ideas — there is a separate section for children.
Your child’s favourite character: send us a picture
Can’t find the character you want in the catalogue? No problem. The character on any cake can be swapped for another: send a picture on WhatsApp and we will recreate it on the cake. We can also put together a whole group from your child’s list — like Cinnamoroll and Kuromi among white flowers on a blue cake. And on the cake with a little footballer we draw the birthday child: send us a photo and we will make the portrait look like them.
You can also build the design yourself in the online cake builder. It already includes pictures for kids — Bobo the bunny, the blue tractor and the Little Mole — and you can also upload your own, such as a picture of your child’s favourite character. It works step by step:
- Start with the size: how many children and adults the cake is for.
- Pick one of the ready-made kids’ pictures or upload the child’s favourite character — up to three images in total.
- Type the name, age and a short greeting — up to three lines — and choose the cream and lettering colours.
- Add a border, check the cake in 3D, pick the sponge and filling and send the order on WhatsApp.
Cakes for kindergarten and parties with friends
If the birthday is celebrated at kindergarten with the whole group, formats where everyone gets their own portion work better:
- Bento set — three or four mini bentos in one box, each with its own design. Our kids set of four cakes with animals, the child’s name, age and greetings is just the thing for kindergarten or school. Prices and tips on spreading the messages across the cakes are in our article on bento sets as a gift.
- Cake to go — mini cakes in cups with a wooden spoon and a candle. They are sold in sets of two or more, at 25 or 30 ₼ per pair depending on the size, and the pink set of nine cups with a crown, a rainbow and balloons fills a whole party table — no big cake needed.
- A large bento cake for 7–8 people — when everyone wants to blow out the candles together and then share the cake.
Kindergarten milestones have their own designs too. The “Hello kindergarten” cake with a rainbow and clouds is ordered for a child’s first day, and for kindergarten graduation we will pick a design from the kids catalogue and write your own message.

How to order a kids cake in Baku
We take pre-orders only and make every cake for your chosen date. Here is how it works:
- Choose a design in the catalogue, send your own picture or build the cake in the cake builder.
- Give us the name and age for the lettering and choose the size.
- Pick a sponge and a filling (the rule is “1 sponge + 1 filling”): vanilla, chocolate or red velvet sponge, with cream cheese frosting.
- Set the date — the order form offers dates from two days ahead — and how you will get the cake: delivery across Baku or collection.
- Send the order on WhatsApp, and we will confirm it in our reply.
If the party falls on a weekend, keep our schedule in mind: on Saturday we deliver from 11:00 to 14:00, Sunday is our day off, and on Monday the earliest you can get the cake is 17:00. The earlier you get in touch, the easier it is to secure your date.
