A bento cake set is a box of mini cakes: three or four small bentos, each with its own design and its own message. At Vanilla Cake a set of three costs 75 ₼ and a set of four costs 100 ₼. It is the natural choice when you want to celebrate several people at once, or to tell one story across several cakes. Below we look at when a set works better than a single cake, share ideas for combinations and explain how to order a set with different designs in Baku.
What a bento cake set is and how much it costs
A set is one shared box with several mini bentos standing side by side. Each cake is decorated separately: one might have a drawing, another a name, a third a date or a joke. Yet the whole box still reads as one gift, and it is easy to hand over in one go. All our ready-made sets are collected in the bento sets section.
| Set | What’s inside | Price | Per cake |
|---|---|---|---|
| Set of 3 | 3 mini bentos, each with its own design and lettering | 75 ₼ | 25 ₼ |
| Set of 4 | 4 mini bentos, each with its own design and lettering | 100 ₼ | 25 ₼ |
The price depends only on how many cakes are in the box, not on what is drawn on them. You can choose one sponge and filling for the whole set or a different combination for each cake: for example, three cakes with vanilla sponge and strawberry filling, and the fourth with chocolate sponge and caramel.
When to choose a set instead of one cake
If you are celebrating one person, a single bento cake is enough. A set is for when there are several people to celebrate — or when one message is not enough. A box of mini cakes is most often ordered for these occasions:
- Several people at once. Four colleagues with birthdays in the same month, three sisters, a project team — everyone gets a cake with their own name.
- Telling a story. A drawing on the first cake, a date on the second, a joke on the third — together they add up to one greeting for one person.
- The office and hen parties. This is where sets go most often: every guest gets their own design and their own message.
- Family celebrations. A husband’s birthday or Father’s Day, with a greeting from a different family member on each cake.
- Nursery and school. Little animals, a name, an age and greetings — a cake for every guest.
Set ideas: telling a story in 3–4 cakes
The best part of a set is not each cake on its own but how they look together. Here are a few combinations from our catalogue that you can use as a starting point and adapt to suit you:
- A story about the birthday person. A penguin, balloons, a star sign and a calendar with the date — as in the penguin and calendar set. Each cake tells you one thing about the person, and together they make a little portrait.
- A date and a few jokes. A cake with candles, a calendar with the date circled and joke captions. We use your date: a birthday, an anniversary or the day you met.
- A family in four cakes. A family drawing, hands, a heart and a greeting for dad — the family set is often ordered for Father’s Day and a husband’s birthday.
- Words only. Four cream-coloured cakes with no pictures, each with a warm phrase. Good for when you have a lot to say and one message is not enough.
- Half pictures, half words. Two cakes with outline drawings and candles, two with a name and an age.
- Funny ones for friends. Drawings and joke captions aimed at one particular person — the words are yours.
- A kids’ set. Little animals, a name, an age and greetings — the kind of set people take to nursery or school.
One palette or contrast
To make four cakes look like one gift, choose a shared palette. In the pink Pinky set the bow, the crown, the cream heart and the name are all in the same shades, so the box reads as a single gift rather than four separate cakes. The other route is contrast: a set in black and red with drawings and names stands out clearly against the pastel ones. For men, people often choose an understated navy set with white lettering and a pearl border.

How to spread designs and messages across the cakes
Before ordering, it helps to sketch a small plan of what goes on each cake. A few simple rules:
- One cake, one idea. On a mini cake a short phrase or a single drawing looks better than everything at once.
- Alternate pictures and words. For example, two cakes with drawings and two with a name and an age.
- Link the cakes with a shared detail — the palette, the typeface, hearts around the edge or a repeated date.
- If the cakes are for different people, put a name on each so it is clear whose is whose.
- Fillings can differ too. If someone does not like chocolate, their cake can have vanilla sponge.
Lettering is free — in English, Russian or Azerbaijani. If you are not sure what to write, browse our cake lettering ideas: phrases for different occasions that are easy to spread across three or four cakes.
How to order a bento set with different designs
We only work to pre-order, so every set is made for your date. Here is how it works:
- Choose a set in the catalogue — or describe your own idea if there is no ready-made set for your occasion.
- On the set’s page, pick a set of three or four cakes in the “Size” field, then choose the sponge and filling. If you want to recreate a design you like, attach its photo right there: a link to the photo is added to your message.
- Press the order button and choose a date (the earliest is two days ahead) and how you will receive the order — delivery in Baku or pickup. The order then opens in WhatsApp.
- In WhatsApp, send us the list of messages — one for each cake.
- We lay out the texts across the cakes and show you the layout before we start.
If the cakes have different sponges and fillings, say in your message which cake gets which. Sunday is our day off, and on Monday the earliest pickup or delivery time is 17:00. Before holidays, get in touch early — that makes it easier to secure your date. You can also message us directly on WhatsApp at +994 55 215 63 43.
And if you are celebrating just one person, you do not need a set: in the online cake builder you can put together a single bento cake — choose the size, one of 19 cream colours, pictures or your own photo, up to three lines of lettering and the border, view the cake in 3D and send the order via WhatsApp.
