A cake for mum is remembered for what is on it, not for its size: “to the best mum in the world”, the children’s names, a family photo or flowers in her favourite colour. A bento cake is ideal for this: a small cake made to order for the date you choose, with free lettering in English, Russian or Azerbaijani. In Baku it costs 25, 35 or 60 ₼, and the price depends only on the size. Below you will find cake ideas for your mum’s birthday and 8 March, messages to write, cakes from the kids and the right size for a family tea.
A birthday cake for mum: ideas from the catalogue
Most of our designs for mum are in the 8 March section, but they are built around words, so they work just as well for a birthday: we swap in your text and make the design in the size you need. Good places to start:
- A white cake with red hearts for the best mum — a daughter’s greeting to her mother. You choose who it is from: a daughter, a son or both.
- “Sevimli Ana” — a cream-coloured cake with red hearts and a greeting for mum. We write the wording in whichever language you need.
- “Ana Evi” — a white and pink cake with a heart and a warm message. We change the text, so the cake carries your words rather than a template.
Her name and age are free to add too. If your mum would rather not count the years, leave the numbers out: “Happy birthday, Mum” and one warm line say more than any number. For more ideas, browse the bento cake catalogue — we can make any design there with a greeting for mum.
A cake for mum on 8 March
For Women’s Day we have a dedicated section, 8 March bento cakes. For mum you will find heartfelt cakes with words, spring designs with daisies, tulips and cream number eights, and Cake to go sets: two cups with spoons for 25 or 30 ₼ — say, one for mum and one for grandma.
Ideas for your sister, wife or colleagues are in our article on 8 March cakes.
What to write on a cake for mum
On a cake for mum, the lettering often matters more than the picture. We write it free of charge, in English, Russian or Azerbaijani. A good rule is to use the language you speak with your mum at home. A few ideas:
- “To the best mum in the world”;
- “Best mum ever” — short and fits any design;
- “Home is wherever you are, Mum”;
- “I love you, Mum”;
- “Mum, you’re our favourite person”;
- “Thank you for everything, Mum”;
- “Ən yaxşı anaya” (“To the best mum”) — if you speak Azerbaijani at home;
- “Самой лучшей маме” — the same idea in Russian;
- “To Mum, love from Leyla and Ali” or “Love from your grandchildren”.
The smaller the cake, the shorter the message should be. The cake builder lets you add up to three lines of up to 40 characters each.
A cake from the kids: a drawing and a family photo
When the greeting comes from the children, let the cake be their gift. Here are a few ways to do it.
A child’s drawing
Ask your child to draw their mum, the whole family or a bunch of flowers. Take a photo of the drawing and upload it to the online cake builder as your own image — a link to it reaches us with the order. You can also simply send a photo of the drawing on WhatsApp, and before we start we will show you how it will look on the cake.
A family drawing can also be part of a set. The catalogue has a family set of four mini bentos: a family drawing, hands, a heart and a greeting. That one is addressed to dad, but the texts in a set are up to you, so we can make the same box for mum.
A family photo
We print the family picture in edible ink right on the cream. You can have one photo or two frames side by side in Polaroid style — an old family shot next to a recent one, for example. Send a large photo without heavy zoom, as fine detail is lost in printing. Our article on photo cakes explains in detail how to choose a good shot. A photo cake costs the same as a regular bento.
If you don’t have a suitable photo, take a look at the cake with a family of cats on a green meadow and a warm message on top: people give it to their parents or order it for a family celebration.
Several children, several cakes
If there are several children and each wants to greet mum in their own way, choose a bento set of three or four mini cakes (75 and 100 ₼): each one carries its own drawing and message from one of the kids.
Flowers on a cake for mum
Flowers are a classic gift for mum, and on a bento cake we pipe them in cream. Calm colour combinations work well:
- A grey-blue cake with white flowers, pearls and words for mum — one of the few in this palette, calm and grown-up;
- a wreath of purple lavender on white cream with a greeting in the centre — a neat, simple shape, with the flowers set in an even circle;
- a cream-coloured cake with multicoloured tulips around the edge — a spring design, and we will replace “Happy Women’s Day” with your words;
- a yellow cake scattered with tiny blue and pink blossoms — bright but not childish, so it is ordered for grown-ups’ birthdays too.

Choose a cream colour your mum loves: the builder has 19 shades, from white, cream and powder pink to lavender, mint, grey and periwinkle.

The right size for a family tea, and how to order
The size depends on how many people will be at the table, not on the occasion. You pay only for the size — drawings, photos and flowers don’t change the price:
| Situation | Size | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Handing it to mum in person, or tea for two | 300–350 g, for 1–2 people | 25 ₼ |
| Family tea: mum, dad and the kids | 750–800 g, for 3–4 people | 35 ₼ |
| A celebration with grandparents and guests | 1200–1500 g, for 7–8 people | 60 ₼ |
| A separate greeting from each child | Bento set of 3 or 4 mini cakes | 75 / 100 ₼ |
We pack the small cake in a white clamshell box, which makes it easy to hand over when you visit. Choose the filling to suit your mum’s taste: inside there is vanilla sponge, chocolate sponge or red velvet, cream cheese frosting and one filling — red velvet with cherry, say, or vanilla sponge with caramel and banana.
Order mum’s birthday cake as soon as the date of the celebration is set: the earliest day in the form is two days ahead. Sunday is our day off, and on Monday the cake can be received from 17:00. Courier, Bolt Delivery or pick-up — our step-by-step cake ordering guide will help you decide what suits you best.
